Alphas

Characters from my Coyote Nights comic.


Fillex: (coyote alpha) A grizzled, old war 'yote. Rough times and hard experiences have shaped his mind from a young age. Out of all the clans in the Yote Woods, his fighting guards are the finest. His hunting force is impressive as well. Not much is known about his past except that he stepped up to take power when the Previous alpha was killed by "The Feral's" (vicious pack of stray dogs that want the Yote Woods for themselves). He was able to get the pack back under control and returned them to their finest. He's rather harsh-spoken and can't stand annoying noises like screeching birds) Fillex is like most males and can't express his true feeling without things getting awkward. He never appears weak in front of his clan and only shows it through exhaustion; which, despite his age, he rarely gets. Despite his rigid structure and generally cold-exterior, he cares a lot about his pack and would do anything to protect them. When someone does something a little crazy or even dangerous *cough-Tuffy-cough* he tends to blow up and says stuff he doesn't really mean.


Mortis: ("Feral" dog Alpha) Mortis is a bully, but the kind that actually will take on someone who may be able to beat him. So he's the worst kind of bully. He controls his own pack of strays and runaways with generally dictatorship. He tries to keep everyone in line but between all the other dogs who want to become alphas themselves or dogs who are simply to lazy or, even worse, dogs who think they can take on the coyotes themselves only to be killed or driven away with horrible scars by the patrols. Mortis use to be a hermits dog before the hermit ended up overdosing himself. Since his master was away from the home, he ,more than likely, dies by a roadside ditch. Mortis began to take in stray and runaway dogs until a sort of "pack" was formed. He despises the coyotes for living so well in Yote Woods and refusing to share any of their territory with his pack. He's not overly fond of the of pet or farm dogs, mostly because they either bite him and his packmates or they bark until their own master comes out (usually with a gun).
